PV Industries and E3Sixty Solar have secured a 3,000 square metre site in Sydney’s Western suburbs. The site will be used for recycling solar panels and will be available as a public drop off point.
The Auburn site has been inspected and accredited to AS/NZS 5377. This Australian Standard sets out benchmark requirements for the collection, storage, transport and treatment of end-of-life electrical and electronic equipment.
The standard takes into consideration safety requirements, environmental impacts, emergency plans, risk assessments, training, record keeping and regulatory compliance.
E3Sixty Solar, which incorporates PV Industries, have already begun recycling solar panels and processing material at the facility.
The facility’s central location relative to Greater Sydney enables efficient collection and logistics for residential, commercial and large-scale solar panel waste streams.
